Japanese Americans are moved to internment camps. After the Pearl Harbor attack, President Roosevelt signed an order authorizing the evacuation of all persons deemed a treat to national security, mainly U.S.-born Japanese persons. Within the next four years, approximately 122,000 men, women, and children were placed in internment camps.
