Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Secretary of State candidates discussed the big issues this afternoon at a debate hosted by The League of Women Voters.
Tom Schedler, the current Secretary of State says he's still the man for the job because he doesn't want to go anywhere other than his current office.
House Speaker, Jim Tucker says he's a a great candidate because of his experience in state government. He says the key to add more jobs in this state is to boost tourism.
That is why he wants vamp up attractions and raise more money for our state museums.
"This is the last stop for me, I'm not trying to be a Congressman, your Lieutenant Governor, or your Governor, so i think that allows me to make good, fair and balanced decisions." Secretary of State, Tom Schedler, said.
"The museums, that's our tourism piece in the Secretary of State's office, and we have to do a better job of being open when the tourists are in this state so that they can see the rich quality we have here in Lousiana." former House Speaker, Jim Tucker, said.
