Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Five local Red Cross volunteers were honored today for their work in New York on September 11th ten years ago.
As people ran from the world trade center the volunteers helped in fire houses, on military bases, and in hospitals.
NBC 33 News sat down with one of those volunteers today.
He says it's an experience they'll never forget.
"It was a situation where there was a response and over the last ten years our country has made a response and they've done a good job of it." Wiley Harvey, a Red Cross volunteer, said.
