DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (NBC33) — A domestic dispute between roommates sent one to the hospital, and the other to jail. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office says 14 men were living at one address on Arnold Road, and last week, one man bit and removed part of his roommates ear.
The Sheriff’s Office began investigating on Saturday, Sept. 10. The incident, however, had occurred two days prior. The victim came forward and filed a complaint on Thursday, Sept. 8, away from the home at a nearby convenience store.
Deputies left the convenience store and went to the home to question the ear-biting roommate. However, when they arrived, the intent of questioning quickly turned into a man-hunt. That’s because a few of the men living in the home ran from the deputies.
A K-9 unit was brought out to locate the individuals who fled out of a bathroom window. They were hiding in a heavily wooded area behind the home.
Deputies recovered two Hispanic men, Leandro Macdonado, 20, and Mario Duran, 19. Both men said then ran from Deputies because they were in the country illegally. They were both charged with 1 count of resisting arrest. Macdonado was treated at a local hospital after he was bitten by the K-9.
One suspect did elude Deputies that night. Miguel Garcia, 27, who was the roommate accused of biting the man’s ear, was located and arrested for 1 count of Second Degree Battery.
All three suspects were reported to Immigration and Customs agents so that immigrant status can be determined.
