BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A man turned himself in to the Baton Rouge Police Department early this morning in connection with a shooting on Progress Street that took the life of three women.
BRPD issued an arrest warrant for Courtney Williams, 21, in the late evening on Saturday, Sept. 10. Officials believe he is responsible for shooting and killing three women and shooting and injuring one male. They believe Williams walked into the home on Progress Street and shot each of the individuals.
The victims have been identified as Josephine Lathers, 76, Brittany Lee, 18, and Clarisa Cobbing, 19. Police have not released the identity of the male who was injured, but say he is in stable condition and recovering from his injury.
After issuing the arrest warrant, Williams turned himself in to Police, and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 3 counts of First Degree Murder, and 1 count of Attempted First Degree Murder. Investigators have ruled the incident to be caused by domestic violence.
