BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — LSU students supported a fellow Friday. A steady stream of spirited supporters lined up in the Tiger Stadium parking lot to donate blood for Chico Garcia.
You may recall, the assistant LSU cheerleading coach was injured in a boating accident recently. Friday, LSU Athletics teamed up with Our Lady of the Lake to take on some of Garcia's medical expenses. For every pint of blood given, OLOL took $15 off Garcia's hospital bill.
The fundraising for Garcia is far from over. On Sunday September 11th, LSU cheerleaders will host a two hour camp called Cheering for Chico. That will go from 10 to noon in the football practice facility. All proceeds will go towards paying for Garcia's hospital bills.
