Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — If you plan on tailgating for the game, it may cost you some money this year.
Tiger fans will be charged to park in new restricted areas off of highland road; it will cost $40.
An alternative to parking at LSU games is to use a shuttle back and forth to Tiger Stadium, which is provided by Baton Rouge’s transit system, CATS.
The company is also providing an extra incentive for you to use its Tiger Shuttle service, which they hope will boost sales in downtown Baton Rouge.
Brian Marshall, the CEO of CATS, says your ride will be free of charge if you make a purchase of any kind at a business located downtown.
The touchdown express shuttle service runs every 15 minutes from two locations in downtown Baton Rouge, straight to Tiger Stadium on days of home games. The goal is to keep traffic off of campus
Pick up locations have changed a bit, too. This year they'll be at Hotel Indigo and by the I-110 underpass at Florida.
"If we can get people to link going to a restaurant and buy a $20 meal or stay at a hotel - that also suits our taste,” stated Marshall. “That builds our tax base, (and) helps strengthen the overall position of Baton Rouge, which is to everybody's interest."
Shuttles will start busing people about three hours before kickoff on Saturday. This week’s kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
