BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — Tropical Storm Lee has flooded many roads in both East Baton Rouge and Livingston Parishes.
Now, work crews are doing what they can to make tomorrow's back to work commute as smooth as possible.
The EBR Department of Public Works says that while the flooding was bad in some areas over the weekend, the city's drainage system has done a good job of filtering out the excess water in general.
The department says the city's streets are safe for the back to work commute tomorrow.
"There's some low lying areas that are going to flood when it rains - anything over an inch or two,” said David Guillory with the EBR Department of Public Works. “But overall if it doesn't sustain, the system usually catches up and the streets can usually dry out within a hour or two."
Guillory went on to say that none of the major streets in East Baton Rouge Parish suffered any major flooding over the Labor Day weekend.
