LIVINGSTON PARISH - (RED CROSS) — WHAT: Shelter opening in Walker as tropical storm impacts Livingston Parish.
WHO: Livingston Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) and the American Red Cross, Louisiana Capital Area Chapter.
WHY: Due to affects from Tropical Storm Lee, the OEP in Livingston Parish will open a shelter this afternoon with support from the American Red Cross.
WHEN: Sheltering will be available for Saturday, September 3 at 2:00 p.m.

American Red Cross shelters will provide food and safe shelter during the storm. Anyone evacuating to a Red Cross shelter should bring essential items for each member of the family including:
∙ Prescriptions and emergency medications
∙ Foods that meet unusual dietary requirements
∙ Important personal documents
∙ Extra clothing, pillows, blankets, hygiene supplies and other comfort items
∙ Supplies needed for children and infants, such as diapers, formula and toys
∙ Special items for family members who are elderly or disabled
∙ Note – Public health regulations do not permit pets in shelters; however service animals are permitted.
