Livingston Parish, La (NBC33) — A head-on collision took the life of a woman from Denham Springs in the afternoon on Wednesday, Aug. 31. The Louisiana State Police say 68-year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Just after 3:00 p.m. Marion Wall, 68, was driving her Lincoln passenger car down LA 1019. Her vehicle was hit by Ronald Hays, 66, of Denham Springs after his vehicle was smashed off the roadway by Michael Mitchell, 39, of Walker. Mitchell caused the crash after sideswiping Hays while he was rounding a curve.
Wall died at the scene of the accident. Mitchell was severely hurt as well with life threatening injuries. He was air lifted by Acadian Ambulance to a local hospital. Hays, whose vehicle hit a ditch and overturned, was surprisingly not injured at all from the crash. Troopers say he was properly restrained, which is what prevented injuries.
The crash is still under investigation and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
