NBC NEWS — The United States will not be submitting a bid to host the 2020 Summer Olympics.
The U.S. Olympic Committee notified all interested cities over the weekend.
In 2009, Chicago was outbid to host the 2016 games in the first round of voting, disappointing thousands who'd hoped to bring the Olympics to the Windy City.
Minneapolis, New York and Dallas were among those that had expressed interest in bidding to host the 2020 games.
Bids were contingent upon the USOC working out a revenue-sharing deal with the International Olympic Committee. That issue was not resolved.
