Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The East Baton Rouge Mortgage Finance Authority has finally approved a $500,000 grant for CATS.
This helps close the bus system's $1.5 million shortfall. CATS CEO Brian Marshall says keeping the bus system running is key to keeping the Capital CIty moving.
Marshall says CATS still hasn't found a dedicated revenue source for next year. He says with a projected deficit of around $2 million, the bus system will run out of money by August 2012 if no money is found.
