BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — Students are angry after waiting in line early this morning to straighten out their financial aid.
Students say they had to wait in line for more than three hours. It's because many were unable to take care of their financial aid using the university's new online system, Banner.
Southern University representative Edward Pratt says he's sorry for any inconvenience students might have suffered, "We want to apologize to our students. This is an unfortunate situation. We hope to have this situation rectified as soon as possible. We have people working on this overnight to see if we can facilitate the students as quickly as possible."
Southern University students, like Jana Myles though, are fed up, "That's a headache to the students to constantly keep driving up here over and over again to be turned around at the door. You got this new system called Banner, where it's supposed to be so much easier. Why didn't they establish this program before the Fall kicked in."
