BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Tonight, the East Baton Rouge School Board decided unanimously to put the Truancy Center on the agenda at next week's school board meeting. The center would provide social and child welfare services to students. It's a facility superintendent John Dilworth believes will help both these students and the entire Baton Rouge community.
If approved at next week's school board meeting, the facility will be located where the old Baton Rouge School for the Visually Impaired used to be. Dilworth hopes the facility would open by January of 2012.
