Central, La (NBC33) — As the economy starts to try to recover, one Louisiana senator is hitting the streets taking your questions about the debt crisis.
David Vitter is hosting the first of three Economy/Debt Forums today in Central. The goal is to explain what the downgrade of credit is and how it impacts everything from retirement to getting a new credit card.
People we spoke with say the recent activity in Washington is hurting lots of people whose future is now uncertain.
"They're hurting an awful lot of people that are on fixed incomes, as we are," said Corley Senyard, a concerned citizen.
Others we spoke with say Vitter was able to calm some fears about the economy. The senator also hosted two forums in Lafayette today.
