SUNDAY, AUG. 07 — Imagine being a child living in a home of neglect or abuse. Who will stand up for your rights? That’s exactly the goal of the CASA organization. The non-profit group is devoted to being a voice for the voiceless.
The organization holds an annual fundraiser in which they raffle off a playhouse for kids. Unlike what you built with mom and dad in the backyard, this dream house is fully equipped. It’s probably nicer than your own home!
“Casas for CASA” will continue through August 14. The $5 ticket can be purchased at the Mall of Louisiana, which is where the dream play house is currently on display, or they can be bought at the CASA headquarters, 848 Louisiana Avenue.
