Lafayette, La (NBC33) — On July 25, at approximately 4:45 am, Lafayette Police were called to a residence in the 500 block of Bellot Street regarding a shooting.
According to investigators, the suspect arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s residence and created a disturbance. He then left the house, only to return later to engage in another argument.
The suspect produced a handgun and fired multiple shots in the direction of the home, and the victim’s male friend was struck twice in the shoulder.
The suspect fled the area, but was taken into custody only a short distance away from the scene.
The victim, a 25 year old male of Lafayette, was transported to an area hospital and remains in stable condition.
Lafayette Police Department detectives have charged Robert Dixon, 23, with Attempted Second Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
