HAMMOND, LA (NBC33) — A fatal crash in Hammond, La took the lives of three people on Tuesday, July 26. Investigators with the Louisiana State Police are still investigating the cause.
The triple fatality crash happened on US 190 at its intersection with N. Coburn Road in Tangipahoa Parish. Troopers say Sarah Robertson, 26, of Independence, La, was traveling south on North Coburn Road and failed to yield to a stop sign. A truck driven by Travis Tackett, 20, slammed into the vehicle.
Robertson had two children in her vehicle, Skyler Ciccio, 5, and Mandy Dennis, 12. All three were transported to area hospitals. All three died as a result of their injuries.
Tackett was also traveling with a 4-year-old child. Both were properly restrained and were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Troopers do not believe that alcohol was a factor in this accident. However, they have submitted blood alcohol samples and are waiting for results.
