BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — Louisiana State Troopers are celebrating 75 years of service Wednesday, with a special ceremony to honor Troopers past and present. State Police Superintendent Colonel Mike Edmunson says the people honored there, make him proud to serve as a Louisiana State Trooper.
“To look there and know that we are all ordinary individuals and on any given day anybody has the ability to be extraordinary and that's because you just simply take the action to do that,” says Col. Edmunson.
This ceremony also served as a memorial for Troopers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
Col. Edmunson will tour troops across the state over the next several months, hosting more anniversary ceremonies.
