Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — An airline highway tire store will reopen tomorrow after an 18 wheeler drove through it.
This is an update from a story we first told you about on our weekend edition of NBC33 News.
Saturday, the driver of an 18 wheeler had a seizure, and plowed through the Tire Kingdom near the intersection of Airline Highway and Florida Boulevard.
The big rig tore trees out of the ground, and smashed through cars and the building.
"The city came out…the fire marshal came out, and the building is in very good shape,” said Austin Corona with Tire Kingdom. “We will be doing repairs, but still have seven of the nine bays open to service our customer base."
No one was seriously injured, and the driver of the big rig was treated and released from the hospital.
One employee of Tire Kingdom also treated and released.
