BATON ROUGE,LA- — With more than $500,000 in the bank, Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne has tripled the amount of money raised for reelection since the last reporting period. Dardenne raised $457,839 for the period. His total raised for the 2011 election cycle comes to $649,420 with just under $530,000 cash on hand.
In 2010, Dardenne raised over $1.8 million in his special election victory; bringing his total to nearly $2.5 million raised to-date, since he began seeking the office of Lt. Governor. Of this money, not one dollar has come out of Dardenne’s pocket.
“I’m very proud of the money we’ve raised and the manner in which we’ve raised it,” said Dardenne.
Since the 2011 election cycle began, 425 donors from 34 parishes across the state have contributed to Dardenne’s campaign.
“Since I became Lieutenant Governor, I fulfilled every promise I made less than a year ago. Our fundraising success shows that people from across the state want me to keep working hard to promote Louisiana,” Dardenne concluded.
