Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — East Baton Rouge Sheriff's say Friday was the last day to pay fines for any outstanding warrants in East Baton Rouge Parish.
The line at the city court house was steady with people trying to pay their outstanding tickets.
That's because all local law enforcement agencies are cracking down on people with outstanding warrants.
If you haven't paid the fine, then you could end up in the city jail, which is now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
People in line at the city court say they're paying up to avoid being caught, later.
"Come pay it, cause i'm not gonna lie, i waited till the last minute, so just as long as you come pay it so you won't get locked up, i know i didn't wanna get locked up." said Lisa Collins, College Student
"Now they're gonna be at your house, knocking on your door, so you might wanna go take care of it." - said former soldier Nicholas Fleniken
"You know what you need to do, I mean hey, handle your business, before the week ends." -said Rae Carrell, Homemaker
If you have outstanding warrants, call the EBRSO Fines Desk at (225) 389-4836.
