WALKER, LA (NBC33) — The goal of finding an abdoned animal a new home means more hours for the animal shelter in Walker.
The shelter will now be open and available for adoptions on Saturday. Previously, the place was only open from 8:00-4:00 Mondays - Thursdays.
"We have animals come in everyday and with us being only open in the hours where people are working it limits our adoption rate". says Darren Blevins, who works at the shelter.
All the animals leave the shelter de-wormed, and up to date on all vaccinations. Adoption fees are $25.
