WASHINGTON, D.C. (NBC33) - — It's a mistrial for Roger Clemens, the ex-baseball star charged with lying to congress about steroid use. The federal judge presiding over the trial in Washington, D.C. says the prosecution showed the jury evidence which was inadmissible.
Judge Reggie Walton says prosecutors violated his orders, and as a result, Clemens could not be assured a fair trial. Outside the courthouse, Clemens and his lawyers wouldn't comment.
Walton scheduled a hearing on September, 2nd to determine if Clemens will get a new trial.
