BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A mother was arrested after she failed to call for help when her child overdosed on drugs.
Tina Homes, 33, was booked in Baton Rouge for Second Degree Cruelty to a Juvenile. That's because Baton Rouge Police say she waited way too long to seek medical attention for her child.
Her 5-year-old daughter took several pills prescribed to her mother. She became very sick, but Homes didn't take the child to the hospital until her husband came home much later that day.
We're told the child is recovering.
