BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Former Governor Edwin Edwards made his first public appearance since being released from house arrest on July 7th.
Edwards attended the Foundation for a Historical Louisiana banquet to honor his biographer, Leo Honeycutt. Honeycutt received the Library Association's 2011 Literary Award.
Honeycutt, who spent five years researching and interviewing Edwrds while he was in prison on federal racketeering charges, wrote Edwards' authorized biography. Edwards says he is surprised and happy by the warm reception he's received from Louisianans since he got out of prison.
