Livingson, La (NBC33) — After a long manhunt, Livingston Parish Sheriff's deputies have a suspected rapist in custody tonight.
While responding to a Rape call in Livingston at 6:30 Sunday morning, an LPSO sheriff's deputy discovered James Buvens, 39.
When the deputy attempted to take Buvens into custody, he jumped in a car and fled. After running for a while, he crashed somewhere between Livingston and Tangipahoa parishes.
Livingston parish deputies eventually brough Buvens down about 12:30 p.m. Sunday with the help of Angola bloodhounds, a Livingston parish helicopter, and an eye witness testimony from an off duty deputy.
Buvens has been taken into custody, and charged with aggrivated rape, and aggrivated flight from a police officer.
