OMAHA, Nebraska — The South Carolina Gamecocks are one win away from back to back baseball National Championships. The first game of the all-Southeastern Conference edition of the College World Series didn't disappoint as South Carolina defeated Florida, 2-1 in 11 innings. Over 25-thousand fans in the stands were treated to free baseball and a defense battle.
Christian Walker scored from first in the top half of the 11th innings to give the Gamecocks their 15th consecutive NCAA tournament victory and 10th in a row in the College World Series. Both streaks are records.
