Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Lt. Col. Paul Robert reports the arrest of two suspects in an early morning shooting on Alligator Bayou Road. On Saturday, June 18, 2011, shortly after daybreak, Ascension Parish authorities were called to the Alligator Bayou Bar after two fishermen located a body.
Investigators identified the body as twenty-seven year old Joshua Banks of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A preliminary investigation revealed that Banks was shot to death at the bar. The bar has been closed for business for several months now.
During the course of the investigation it was discovered that the last person Banks was seen with was twenty year old Montrell Antonie Lemon of Baton Rouge.
Investigators located Lemon in Baton Rouge on Monday, June 20, 2011, where he was questioned about the Banks murder. Investigators were successful in linking Lemon to the scene of the murder. Following Lemons arrest investigators were also able to identify two additional suspects that were involved which included Lemon’s sister, thirty year old Jerelyn Lemon Stovall of Houma, Louisiana, and her boyfriend, 30 year old Corey Robertson of Baton Rouge. Additionally, investigators learned of a fourth suspect involved, thirty three year old Eujohn Moses of Gramercy, Louisiana.
On June 20, 2011, Montrell Antoinie Lemon, 20, of 17232 #835 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, La. 70817 was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder. No bond has been set at this time.
On June 20, 2011, Jerelyn Lemon Stovall, 30, of 316 Lenona Street Houma, Louisiana was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder. No bond has been set at this time.
Warrants have been obtained on Corey Robertson, 30, of 17232 Jefferson Highway #835 Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Eujohn Moses, 33, 1363 North Isodore Gramercy, Louisiana. Both remain at large.
Lt. Col. Robert advised that Ascension Parish Investigators were assisted in the investigation by investigators from the Baton Rouge Police Dept., East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, and the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
