NBC News — Israeli war planes struck suspected targets within the Gaza Strip early wednesday, in response to two rockets fired into southern Israel. The Israeli army said in a written statement that the aircraft were targeting tunnels within the center of the Gaza Strip.
The army said the tunnels are used by Palestinian gunmen to enter Israel, the statement added the attack was successful. At least one missile hit a chicken farm within Gaza, damaging one of the sheds. A large hole could be seen through the roof of the shed and many of the young chicks inside were killed by the blast.
