New Iberia, La (NBC33) — Two New Iberia men are behind bars for an armed robbery.
On June 12, the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of an armed robbery at the 200 Block of Ed Broussard Road in Iberia Parish.
Once deputies arrived, they spoke to the victims who stated three black males forced their way into their home and held them at gunpoint. They then took electronics, cell phones and computers. The suspects then fled the scene.
As other Iberia Parish Sheriff’s deputies were responding to the theft, they saw a vehicle speeding in the opposite direction. Deputies located the vehicle, along with two individuals and stolen property as described by the victims.
Deputies also located two handguns believed to be used in the robbery.
Aaron Benjamin, 19, and James Allen Reed Jr., 20, were charged with Armed Robbery and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
