Police Chief moves up retirement date

BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA)  After 27 years on the police force BRPD Chief Jeff Leduff has announced he will retire on December 1, making his last day November 30.  In a letter to Mayor President Kip Holden, the 53 year-old chief said he is moving the date up from December 31 so he can spend more time with his family.

Leduff has held his post as BRPD Chief for the last 6 years.

Its been a slow decline in the perfromance of the BRPD, all brought on by the inabilities of Leduff. Its time for him to go. I hope the mayor does the right thing and hires from outside the department. The people Leduff put around him are no different than him.
