BATON ROUGE, La.-(NBC33) —
Lafourche - The body of a man reported missing by deputies has been found. 41 year old Chad Tabor was found in a truck in the parish. That truck was pulled from an area swamp. Tabor was reported missing after he didn't show up for work Saturday - or pick up his son as scheduled. Deputies say they noticed tire marks leading to the water - and paint from the truck on a nearby tree. We're told the truck was completely underwater when it was found.
Livingston - Two new reserve officers are ready to hit the street in walker. Officers Tracy Girlinghouse and William Lawson have been trying to become reserves for about a year. After training - the board of alderman wouldn't agree to add the pair to the force. After finally getting approval earlier this week - the officers say they can't wait to get to work. Reserve officers don't cost the city any money - but they do just as much work. In a statement - the police department says they're happy to add Girlinghouse and Lawson to the department.
East Baton Rouge - The Southern Board of supervisors decides not to hire Chancellor James Llorens choice for Athletic Director.
Paula Jackson - a Southern alum was voted down five to seven. The search now continues for a permanent Athletic Director. In the meantime - interim A-D Sandy Pugh will stay in that position. Greg Lafleur was fired after being charged with prostitution in Texas. He was found not guilty.
