A Lafourche parish man is facing 3rd Offense DWI after deputies there say he was pulled over with alcohol in his car and a baby in the back seat. Christopher Williams, 24, was pulled over on the night of Friday, August 17. Deputies say he had five beers in the passenger seat, an open beer between his legs, and his girlfriend's one year old child in a car seat in the back seat.  Williams is in jail now.  His bond has been set at $20,000.

In Caddo parish, deputies say they broke up a drug deal in progress. Deputies say they found more than eighteen Lortab tablets on Stanley Fuller, 52, when they made the arrest on Friday, August 17. Authorities say Fuller was wanted at the time of that arrest for having more than 70 grams of cocaine on him at an earlier date. He's charged with possession with intent to distribute.

In East Baton Rouge parish, school is back in session for local college students.
Students at LSU, Southern, and Capital Area Technical College are all back in class.
The big return comes amongst concerns over budget cuts - even possible consolidation by the LSU board.
