BATON ROUGE,La.-(NBC33) — St. Tammany - A two story float in a St. Patrick's Day parade in Slidell collapsed Sunday afternoon. Two people had to be taken to the hospital. Fire officials say a tire blew and the double decker float tipped over tossing riders and their loads of goodies on the street. First responders helped rescue some of the people who were trapped underneath the crumbled float. None of the 35 riders were seriously injured.
St Mary - Parish sheriff deputies say they've arrested a man who busted in to a bar with a two by four, and took off with cash. 30 year old Jeremy Allemond is facing multiple charges tonight. We're told we went to the Tabu Bar in Amelia, as managers were closing for the night. Detectives say Allemond started fighting with a bar worker, and took off with cash, after beating the employee with a two by four. Allemond is being held in the Saint Mary parish jail with no bond.
Lafayette - More than 100 volunteers are still helping victims of flooding in the Carencro area. More than 1400 homes impacted by last week's flooding rain. Red Cross says they're still working around the clock helping victims with shelter and clothing. Some homes had forty inches of water in their homes. Red Cross officials tell NBC33 news they're concerned about even more wet weather in the area later this week.
