NBC NEWS — American college student Amanda Knox was back in an Italian courtroom Tuesday. Knox was in court for the slander trial brought against her by Italian police.

The 23-year-old is currently serving 26 years in an Italian prison for killing her British roommate in 2007.

During the murder investigation, Knox accused police of beating her. Italian prosecutors deny the charge and have filed a slander case against her.

Curt Knox, Amanda's father, also attended the hearing.
