Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Now is the time to plant fall vegetables: lettuce, tomatoes, cauliflower, and even bell peppers.
Make sure you mulch at least 3-4 inches around the plants to protect from stress; this will also keep the roots cool.
Roses will need to be cut back in preparation for the fall.
Now that it is cooler, transplant and divide what perennials you want to save and move. Do this on a cool day and keep them well watered; you do not want them to dry out.
