Zachary High Band Heading to Washington

The Zachary High School band is getting their chance to shine on a national stage.

The band will play three songs--My Country tis of Thee, another paying tribute to their home state, and finally their very own school.

Over 80 members have signed up to go, but the ticket isn't cheap—about $900 a student.

So parents, faculty, and the band have been raising money for the past six months.

“We're all band parents trying to make sure these kids go to Washington," said Matt Jones.
