BATON ROUGE, LA. (NBC33) — With holiday plans underway for Thanksgiving and followed by Christmas celebrations, the Internal Revenue Service has tips to help reduce tax time stress after you ring in the New Year.
In this season of shopping and charitable giving, research and planning plays an important part in maximizing savings. That rule of thumb also applies to your taxes.
“Organizing your records and preparing to file your tax return have become American traditions for the start of the new year,” said Dee Harris Stepter, IRS spokesperson. “We provide a wide range of tools and educational assistance to help people meet their taxpaying responsibilities with as little stress as possible.”
A six-part-series, “IRS End of the Year Tax Tips” begins on November 21. The series will include tips for individuals, businesses plus a special look at IRS resources to help you successfully handle filing season 2012.
