Larry and Amber Douglas are a fun loving couple that work hard to clean up crime scenes. They own 'Xtreme Cleaners,' and they say business is booming.

"We have really put our heart and soul into our business, and it's become so successful we have the opportunity to purchase a home on the bayou," Amber Douglas said.

The Douglas family decided they would start looking for new homes. That's when they got the call from Destination America offering them a chance to be on an episode of "Buying the Bayou." The couple decided to show their house hunting journey on the small screen.

"It was a lot of fun for the two of us, but having the camera's follow you is a different angle," Larry Douglas said. "You had to look at the houses differently. You had to go through things different times. You spent days looking at homes instead of a few hours."

Their daughter Emma Douglas had one request: please find a home with a balcony.

The couple toured three homes in Louisiana.

"My favorite part of these houses was seeing how beautiful these homes are, and having the opportunity our selves to purchase a home like this," Amber Douglas said.

They said it was fun to be part of the show, but it took a lot of work.

"People think oh it's on for 30 minutes and without commercials it's 22 minutes long. It's really about 60 hours of filming for those 22 minutes," Larry Douglas explained.

"Filming reality T.V. can be very stressful. We would have call at 6 or 7 o'clock in the morning. Sometimes we wouldn't get to bed till twelve one or two," Amber Douglas said.

Amber and Larry Douglas are self proclaimed reality T.V. Fans, but they say sometime Louisiana can get a bad rep on these types of shows.

Their goal was to make sure they showed off the best of the Bayou State.

"We can now show people what Louisiana has to offer. Businesses can grow here. We have a successful business and there are beautiful homes in the area that are not all in the swamp they are not all trailers in a tree. There are really some nice properties here," Larry Douglas said.

In the end they did pick a home, but you'll have to wait till their episode airs to find out which one.

Their episode "Buying the Bayou: Bayou Millionaires" airs on Saturday October 26 at 9:00 p.m. on Destination America.
