High schoolers in White Castle come together for the towns first ever college fair.

Students got to talk with representatives from several state colleges including: University of Louisiana Lafayette, and University Louisiana Monroe. Louisiana State University, University of New Orleans, and Southeastern were also on hand.

Students said it was a great way to get information about schools they'd normally never get a chance to see.

" I'd have to go to Monroe, because I want to go to ULM," said high school student Shelley Green. " I wouldn't have been able to get certain information and to inquire about the different colleges. "

"More kids are going to college, because they like what they are hearing, " said another high school student Delicia Landry, "They like what eh see and have to offer."

The mayor of White castle Gerald J. Williams said today's a event was big hit. "Events of this nature are going to cause our town to go to greater and greater heights," said Williams.

Teens from all the area high schools were carpooled in for the event.
