Wednesday started off as a normal workday for one Baton Rouge woman, but things quickly took a turn for the worse as she prepared to start her day.

"Getting ready to go to work, let the car warm up, a black male walked up, pointed a gun and said give me all you've got," the victim, who wished to remain nameless, explained.

She said her early morning nightmare didn't stop at the attempted robbery though.

"And I just pulled off and he shot at me."

After the shots were fired, she fled to the nearest well-lit area where she could find help, a gas station located on the corner of Airline Highway and Coursey Boulevard.

"They just came in and asked me to call the police, saying somebody had shot at them and tried to rob them," a clerk, who also wished to remain anonymous, explained.

And thanks to the help of that clerk the victim was able to stay locked safe inside and call for help, shaken by the experience, but otherwise o.k.

"I just did what I needed to do to help them out. Just locked the doors 'til the police got here," the clerk added.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Department did respond to the attempted robbery. Right now it's still under investigation and no one has been arrested at this time.
