"I had just got out my bed and I came up in here and all of a sudden I heard boom, boom, boom, boom,” says a Baton Rouge resident

Now, this Baton Rouge woman who lives near the scene of the shooting says she's afraid for her life. That's why she doesn't want us to show her face.
Those gunshots she heard killed 30-year old Earl Brown. They broke the calm in this normally quiet and peaceful neighborhood.

"I said oh my god. That was not thunder and then I went to my bedroom window and I heard a lady screaming," says the Baton Rouge resident

Brown's truck is still just feet from where he was killed. Neighbors say it's an eerie reminder.

"It's frightening. It's frightening," says the Baton Rouge resident

Neighbors say authorities found Brown's body laying on a shirt in the parking lot of his apartment complex almost right next to where he had been living just moments earlier.

"I can't live around here no more," says the Baton Rouge resident

Though this neighbor has lived in her apartment for almost three years, this shooting has hit her too close to home and now she feels like a prisoner inside of it.

“I normally walk around the corner to the Dollar store to Rite Aid. I can't. I'm scared to do that. I can't do that. My son told me don't do that," says the Baton Rouge resident

And now she's looking to get out of her apartment and the neighborhood before she's the next victim.

"I can't get my mind off of it. It's too close," says the Baton Rouge resident.
