A murder scene greeted residents of the Oakleigh Apartments Friday morning. It's something they say they never expected to see around there.

"I was just amazed. It was like waking up from a dream. I am like, 'is this really happening?' I looked outside and they had cops and a truck was on a trailer hitch and I said 'something's wrong,'" recalled Bent Roussel, a resident of the complex.

People living in the complex say it's not the kind of place where bad things happen.

"It's really quiet, people are usually pretty friendly, they are just college students and people who work close to this area," said Paul Silva.

"Very quiet, mostly families. Kids that go to college. Nobody really just hangs out so this is the first thing to ever happen," said Roussel.

Residents said the complex is usually pretty quiet, but a crime like this could force them to reconsider where they call home.

"I am kind of scared for his life because now I don't know what's going to happen in this place," said Silva, whos father lives in the complex.

Some are taking a different approach, they said they don't expect any more murders, but believe sometimes you just can't avoid crime.

"I think it's real safe. I think it just, it just happens everywhere. In the smallest towns it happens."

Deputies haven’t arrested anyone for this murder yet.
