NEW ORLEANS, LA (WGNO) — As the hunt continues for Uptown robbery and shooting suspects, the night watching never stops, security guards say.
Metro Security took WGNO News along for the ride through the Uptown area where a teen crime spree sent a lawyer to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the chest.
Last Tuesday night's shooting of attorney Sanford Kaynor inspired his co-workers to organize a blood drive in his honor Monday at his firm.
Two were arrested in connection with the spree, which included at least three robberies in Uptown.
Metro Security says their area is safer during their patrols, and that they take it personally when rare violent crimes like take place.
One of the two teens arrested last week was a 14-year-old wearing an ankle monitor.
The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating how he wasn't caught before the allegedly committing crimes.
The company that makes the monitor says it notified deputies the boy left his coverage area.
At least one teen is still being sought, and though two have been arrested for the robberies, there are no charges filed for attempted murder or assault with a deadly weapon.
