Hammond, La (NBC) — A prayer vigil is set tonight for hit-and-run victim Blake McKee. McKee was struck by a hit-and-run driver after the LSU-Alabama game. McKee is still listed in critical condition at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Family friends say he's showing some positive signs, but they're hoping to pack the church tonight and pray for his continued recovery.
"There’s no telling how many people will be in attendance, definitely several hundred. Hopefully we can fit everyone. Any body who wants to come, feel free to even if you know Blake or not," Kyle Clemments, a family friend explained.
The vigil is set for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 at Holy Ghost Church in Hammond, located at 600 North Oak Street in Hammond.
Blake’s friends have started selling "Team Blake" shirts and set up a website to collect donations to offset the mounting hospital expenses.
There still haven't been any arrests in this case, and police are still asking any one with information to come forward.
