PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (NBC33) — Early Wednesday morning, just before 9:15 a.m., a tornado ripped through a Prairieville neighborhood.

Now all that neighbors can do is try and rebuild.

Paula Murray was fast asleep when her house collapsed around her. She says she never even heard it coming.

Right next door, Irene Simon's home was severely damaged. The roof ripped apart, and her doors blasted open and windows shattered.

Across the street, debris littered lawns, leaving people busy boarding up windows and covering up the gaping holes left behind.
