BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Saturday, a man finished his 24 hour bike ride around the LSU lakes for the orphans in Africa.

Barton Pickens rode for the group "One for the Orphan".
The group helps bring light to the deplorable conditions in Africa, and does what they can to help those kids.

Friday night and Saturday morning, Pickens rode his bike to raise money for those kids, and his mom couldn't be happier.

"I've learned a lot from him myself, but he has such a heart for these children in Africa, and just to bring awareness to these orphans " - said Beth Alford, Barton Pickens' mom
