"If someone had said that was a bomb that dropped. i didn't know what it was. I never felt anything like that, ever," says Linda Glisson. What Linda Glisson felt was the power of Hurricane Gustav sending a tree through the home she's lived in with her husband for more than 30 years.

"This is the tree that uprooted and came all the way across our house into the next yard. it was this large, it took out everything you see across the front of our house, came through the roof, through the ceiling down to the floor, through the house," says her husband Mike Glisson. it almost took out Linda along with it, "I had my back to the wall, sitting on the floor with my back to the wall. All of a sudden this overwhelming crash. I didn't even know what happened."

Even though it's been three years, Linda remembers it like it was yesterday, "I was just traumatized. I couldn't even move." What she and her husband will also remember is the help they got from neighbors like Bill Cabellero, "We really didn't stand around and have a reaction. We just kinda started grabbing things and moving furniture and trying to get stuff to save it. It wasn't like we had time to say, oh gee, there's a tree."

Though they had to rebuild almost their entire house, they know it could have been so much worse, "Our daughter and son-in-law and grandbaby were gonna come be here for the storm...at the last minute they decided to stay at their home and it was such a blessing."
