LSU Baseball Coach helps teachers in the Baton Rouge area
Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri lent a helping hand to teachers on the morning of May 2.
Mainieri was at Highland Road Elementary School as part of Teach for America week.
The national group recruits recent college graduates to teach for 2 years in urban and rural public schools; this year alone, over 8,000 young teachers are working in 39 regions across the country.
Mainieri talked to the kids about the importance of team work. The kids got to ask questions, and many wanted to know more about how to make their way to college.
